GLA Data Warehouse
This project was facilitated by the need to aggregate data from a multitude of different systems to have a single repository to feed our GLA Marketing reporting solution (Seismic). There were approximately eight distinct systems that were integrated into the database. API’s and sFTP’s were leveraged. Several data transformation steps were implemented via our ETL processes.
GLA Salesforce Implementation/Migration
A large CRM build-out and historic data cleanse and migration. Provided distinct architecture for different client-facing segments of users. Decommissioned two CRMs for our move to Salesforce.
GLA Full-Scale System Conversion
It’s difficult to state the scope and sensitivity level of this project. This was a full-scale, firm-wide software replacement. From the accounting system, performance engine, trading systems, rules (exceptions) manager, billing system, custodian feeds, report generator and connectivity to all third-party data and analytics vendors. Anyone who has been involved (managing or participating) in a project such as this knows that there will inevitably be a slew of unforeseen issues that the team must contend with. I am proud to say that this project was completed on time and under budget.
GLA Seismic Reporting Solution Implementation
Implemented and designed from the ground up, this was a fun project leveraging a great and ever-changing reporting tool. This solution was built on top of the GLA data warehouse. This Seismic solution is a cloud-based reporting tool that the firm’s marketing team used for its: pitch-books, fund reporting and factsheets. Data was migrated from the data warehouse and dynamically updated into the cloud reports which were accessible to the GLA Marketing teams.
Wintrust Wealth Data Warehouse
An extremely complex and rewarding project. Imagine if you will three very distinct business units averaging six different vendors per unit all in need of their own specialized reporting and in-house applications (data marts). On top of that, a consolidated/conformed (data warehouse) to roll-up all the KPI’s for management. Some of the skills leveraged in this project were: requirement gathering, schema design, data governance, data validation, meta data governance, advanced ETL solutions, data modeling, dimension table analysis, dashboard design, project management, business analysis, team management.
Account Review Committee Portal
A project that was necessitated by an internal audit find. This finding needed to be resolved in a very short amount of time. We needed a way for compliance to have visibility of Portfolio Managers trade activity to ensure that they were following their fiduciary obligations of investing their accounts to their assigned models in a timely fashion and within an acceptable timeframe. Our solution was to leverage our new data warehouse to pull account level holdings information and bounce it off our model information which was housed in our respective trading systems.
We leveraged APIs from the trading systems and pushed the data into our warehouse converting JSON to .CSV format. After housing the data, we were able to run a slew of different metrics on the account data to validate whether the accounts were in good standing. A few of the metrics were: concentrated positions, non-recommended funds, sector allocation and securities that did not align with the underlying model.
From there we were able to build PowerbI dashboards both for the compliance team (aggregated and individual reports) and the individual portfolio managers.
